Salvation Army Clitheroe.

On August 9th, 2007 Salvation Army directors were asked to respond to accusations that they had been involved in misconduct.

The next day, August 10th 2007, the Salvation Army closed Clitheroe's Detox unit with only a few hours notice.

The clients who were detoxing were kicked out.

The Salvation Army claimed that cash shortages and a lack of employees caused the closure.

Misconduct at Salvation Army Clitheroe included extorting money from the United Way (here), financial deceptions (here), and lethal fraud (here) and (here).

$4,000,000

               ----------------------------------

People were denied treatment and died, for outrageous reasons that are discussed on this website.

Millions of dollars that were supposed to be used for addiction services were squandered.

As of December 2008, no senior Salvation Army staff have been held accountable for any misconduct.

In 2007, Government agencies gave $4,000,000 to Salvation Army Clitheroe.

Salvation Army Clitheroe also receives other gov't money (Example here).

Why don't any of the agencies here or here monitor abuses?

  • This website was made for an EEOC complaint (filed with the Anchorage Equal Rights Commission in December, 2007). The Equal Rights Commission decided in favor of the Salvation Army in December 2008, without doing even a basic investigation, details here.
